Calling all Christian Community groups of different ethnic background you and your community are invited to participate in our Cultural Night at the Stable on Riverway Friday, 20th Dec 2024.
Join us for a vibrant evening where communities unite! We invite everyone in Townsville to be part of this special celebration.
Here’s how you can get involved:
Set Up Your Pop-Up Community Embassy at The Stable: Showcase your community’s uniqueness through customary attire, souvenirs, visual art, cuisine, and performing arts.
Food Stalls: Share the flavours of your homeland by offering delicious food from your country.
Perform on Stage: Lead community dances and songs, either on stage or in our dedicated performance areas.
Participate in the People’s Parade: Wear traditional dress, play music, sing, and celebrate the multicultural life of Townsville as we follow the Star and celebrate the birth of Christ.
Join the Blessing Song: Express unity across all cultures through a powerful collective song.
Let your community’s story shine through art and creativity. Regardless of artistic skill level, everyone has something valuable to say and share. Together, we’ll light up The Stable with the spirit of 'Many Candles – One Light.'

Whether you are 1 day old or 100 years old become a Volunteer at Stable at Riverway. Volunteer registrations are now open with extra jobs coming on board all the time! This is a great opportunity
to share the message of Christmas in words and action
meet other Christians in the city
have great fun while serving God
and be part of giving a FREE gift of life to the city.
During the event you could volunteer in areas like Administration, Serving tea and coffee, Acting, Selling drinks, Welcoming people, Pastoral care, kids and youth activities, site support and so much more. In fact there will be a job to fit your gifts and talents, time and interest, age and fitness.

Be a Volunteer Before the Event
Before the Event there are lots of jobs to do. We need helpers in areas like - fundraising (including events and sponsorship), cake cutting, craft preparation or prop making, letterbox drops or being involved at Community events – handing out brochures, or being a Big Head etc.
We also need help with administration and graphic art.

Use Your Entertainment Gifts
There are multiple ways you can use your entertainment or musical gifts at Stable. Our goal is to immerse people in the Christmas story. So while we want you to display the best of your talents we would love Christmas songs, carols and entertainment. We want the message to be about the birth of Jesus.
During the Event
There will be many different performance opportunities available and we are keen to bring a wide range of genre to the event.
The Yarning Circle
The Yarning Circle is an exciting space where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will share there faith and culture in an interactive way through music, art, dance, weaving, story telling. Our heart is for barriers to break down as we gather around the story of Christmas. Jesus was known as the ‘Prince of peace’. This space will model His values of love, peace and unity as we respect our diversity and build meaningful relationships. We are looking for artist and musicians; dancers and singers; weavers and story tellers of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage who would love to share there creativity and experience.
