Community Engagement
“Stable NQ is more than a celebration; it’s a reflection of who we want to be as a community. We can’t gather thousands of people to experience hope while ignoring those who are struggling. We must celebrate together, support one another, and create a city where everyone belongs.”
Street Angels
Our Street Angels will welcome and support people as they experience Stable in the City (Dec 3 -5) and walk the Townsville City Lights Trail, creating a safe, friendly and positive environment throughout the CBD. They will be a visible presence of care, hospitality and connection during Stable in the City.
Creating Safety During StableConnection Team
Our Connection Team will intentionally create opportunities to engage with people who may be struggling, experiencing loneliness or facing hardship during the Christmas season. Through genuine conversation, practical support, food, prayer and connections to local support services, we want every person to know they are seen, valued and loved, because the Good News is for everyone.
Creating Community During Stable
While we want to be a blessing to all Townsville families during Stable, we also want to do something that will continue to have an impact throughout the year. Through partnerships with local schools, chaplains and community organisations, we will provide essential school supplies (e.g. back packs, shoes) and resources to families who need extra support as they prepare for the year ahead. This allows the impact of Stable to continue beyond December and into the wider community.
Providing Support After StableSchool Support
Stable NQ is committed to working alongside local churches, organisations and community leaders to respond to real needs across Townsville. Together, we can celebrate Christmas while creating meaningful connection, generosity and hope for those who need it most.
Building a City of HopeCommunity Partnerships
The story of Christmas is a story of love and generosity. This is what Stable NQ is all about. Not only telling that story in creative and compelling ways but also living out that story in our own community by showing our love to our neighbours who are hurting the most.
