Frequently Asked Questions

  • For those with mobility needs, Stable NQ will provide a complimentary mini-bus shuttle service.

    Seating is limited - please reach out to Stable NQ to register interest.

    A designated drop-off and turning circle on Walker Street will also be available near the main hub - Stable in the City (YWAM Youth Precinct) for those wishing to drop off family members before parking nearby.

    The mini-bus shuttle will have space for small foldable strollers - (No prams).

    One shuttle bus will have wheelchair access.

    We encourage all who are able, to park nearby, enjoy the Christmas Lighting Trail between each location, and leave the shuttle service for guests with mobility needs.

  • Stable NQ has a dedicated session on Saturday from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Main Hub (YWAM Youth Precinct), designed to provide a quieter and more accessible experience for older adults, people with disability, and those who may benefit from a less crowded environment.

    Families may drop off passengers at the designated drop-off and turning circle on Walker Street, conveniently located beside the YWAM Youth Precinct (Main Hub), before parking nearby.

  • If you're visiting with young children, we recommend choosing the option that best suits your family:

    1. The Two-Stop Journey (Recommended): Start at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church to enjoy the messy play activities, then take the short 7-minute downhill walk to the Main Hub (YWAM Youth Precinct) to experience the Nativity Story.

    2. Use the Shuttle Service: Bring a small foldable stroller (no prams) and take advantage of our complimentary mini-bus shuttle service, which operates regularly between all four event locations.

    3. Make It Part of the Adventure: Pack the kids into a wagon or trolley and enjoy a fun Christmas journey together as you explore the event locations at your own pace.

  • There is no dedicated event car park at the Main Hub (YWAM Youth Precinct); however, there is plenty of parking available throughout the Townsville CBD, all within easy walking distance.

    For the easiest experience, we recommend parking at one of the larger CBD car parks, including Dean Street, Sturt Street Cutting, Walker Street, or Wilson Parking on Flinders Street.

    A complimentary shuttle bus service will operate continuously between the Dean Street Car Park and all four event locations throughout the event. (Dec 3 - 5, from 5:30pm - 9:00pm)

    A dedicated drop-off and turning circle will also be available at the Main Hub (YWAM Youth Precinct) for families and guests wishing to drop off loved ones before parking nearby.

    A parking map and shuttle timetable will be released closer to the event.

  • There will be plenty of delicious options available throughout the event!

    Family-friendly meals, snacks, drinks and desserts will be available at:

    • YWAM Youth Precinct (Main Hub)

    • St Andrew's Presbyterian Church

    If you're looking to make a night of it, we encourage you to explore the Christmas lights along Flinders Street and enjoy one of the many cafés and restaurants in City Lane before or after your Stable in the City experience.

  • A main First Aid station will be located at the Main Hub (YWAM Youth Precinct). Each event venue will also have a smaller First Aid station and trained First Aid officers on site. If you need assistance, simply look for a Stable NQ team member wearing a bright high-visibility vest, and they will direct you to the nearest First Aid officer.

  • Each venue (excluding Flinders Lane) will have public toilets open and available for use during event times (Dec 3 - 5 from 5:30pm - 9:00pm)
