2021 Volunteer registrations are open with extra jobs coming on board all the time! We need help with Administration, Hospitality on the buses, actors and technicians for the ‘Christmas Story’, selling and serving food and drink, pastoral care, raintree grove, site support and youth. Heaps of different jobs – register and check out what you can do. It’s always fun and a chance to serve God and the community.
Many roles still need to be filled and there are so many ways for you to be involved. Whatever your talent, skill or passion, we have a job for you!

Use Your Entertainment Gifts
There are multiple ways you can use your entertainment or musical gifts at Stable. Our goal is to immerse people in the Christmas story. So while we want you to display the best of your talents we would love Christmas songs, carols and entertainment. We want the message to be about the birth of Jesus.
On the main stage (18-22nd December)
This is for experienced performers on the main stage. We would love a variety of genre and acts that engage the audience and bring the message of Christmas.
On the Raintree Grove stage (18-22nd December)
This is a quiet reflective area largely for solo’s and duets
Street entertainment - at the entrance to Riverway (18-22nd December)
We would love some vibrant groups to welcome visitors to the park.
Street Entertainment - around the city (1st-24th December)
We want to flood the city with songs about Jesus – form a group of carolers or maybe you are an individual item. We can place you in a public place for you to busk or perform.

None of our 1,000 volunteers are paid. We all do it because we want to bring a gift of love to this city. There is no expectation that entertainment acts would be paid either.

Stable on the Strand, North Queensland’s annual Christmas Festival, is a gift from the Combined Churches of Townsville, the Townsville City Council our local businesses and you, to our city and our region.
With an attendance of over 40 000 people each year and a cost of approximately $500 000, offering this event as a free event is only made possible through donations both small and large. Your contribution is vital to making this event happen.

Entertainment book has gone digital. Purchase your Entertainment Membership from Stable on the Strand. Memberships are 12months from the date of activation. From each membership sold Stable receives 20%.
Containers For Change
Take your recyclables to our sponsor Envirobank’s Refund Point and quote our ID C10044109. The money refunded will be paid directly into our account.
If you are a business or organisation, phone Jalissa at Envirobank for a large orange bag to collect your recyclables, then phone again when full and ready for pickup. Envirobank are sponsoring the delivery of bags and pickup of recyclables throughout the year with no cost to you or Stable.
