Who we are and what we do

The Stable is a cherished Christmas Festival in Townsville, running for 23 years and attracting over 32,000 attendees across five nights from December 18th to 22nd at Riverway. The festival features a live Bethlehem village with animals and interactive period activities such as carpentry, baking, and fishing.

This year’s theme nights include Seniors & Disabilities Night, Hope Night, Christmas Markets, and Cultural Night, each offering unique experiences. Various areas within the festival cater to different interests, including the Town of Bethlehem, the Youth and Families zone, Raintree Grove (with a stage and free hospitality tent), a petting zoo, food trucks, and diverse entertainment.

Open to all ages and backgrounds, The Stable provides a free, inclusive, and immersive event that brings the community together to celebrate the joy of Christmas.

Become a regular giver

Did you know – it costs about $300,000 a year to run Stable? It costs us $6,000 in shed rental, insurance, wages and incidentals every month of the year!!!. Please help us by becoming a regular giver so we have an income all year round. Currently, we have about 6 people making a regular contribution to Stable (about $1,200 a month).  Could we get 20 contributing (about $3,000 a month) during the month of March?

We acknowledge God as Creator and owner of all things. We acknowledge that He gave stewardship of the land on which we meet to the Bindil and Wulgurukaba people who have welcomed many other cultures onto this land.

We pay our respects to the Wulgurukaba and Bindal people and their elders/leaders, both past and present, and those who are rising up to become future leaders.
